The kitchen has quickly become a place for families to gather and even unwind. With the kitchen becoming an integral part of the home and family, it is no surprise that the design of the kitchen has also become very important.
At Landmark Custom Homes, we believe that every homeowner should create the kitchen of their dreams, that's why we are posting this list of things to do before building your custom kitchen.
These seven simple steps can help you get your kitchen design right:
1. PLAN. Take a minimum of six weeks to brainstorm, discuss, plan, and refine your kitchen design. You’ll have to take into account layout, proportion, storage, and functionality.
2. THINK BIG. How will you use your kitchen? Put your wish list together. Add every thing you want, but know that you might have to give up some of these things along the way.
3. IMAGINE IT. Imagine what you plan to do once your kitchen is complete –dinner parties, family game night or a place to unwind with the family.
4. PRIORITIZE. What are the most important features of your new kitchen? Make a list.
5. GATHER EXAMPLES. Read magazines, and surf the web. Put a collage together of kitchens you like and try to hone in on what you like about them.
6. TAKE YOUR TIME. Take the time to get it right before the construction begins.
7. GET STARTED. Sit back and relax. Let your custom home builder turn your dream into reality.
